Next we stood her to the X-cross and covered her airway with film dressing for three times again, asking her to keep full lungs, half lungs, and empty lungs of air, respectively, in order to adapt her body and mentality gradually to the extreme conditions of no air and no breathing. Finally she was ready for the last round. She knew that she would blackout for the first time by film dressing covering her nose and mouth, and she knew that that might be very painful. The fact is, that was even more painful than what she thought. After she breathed out air in her lungs and got her airway covered, she held her breath actively for more than a minute. There were a few contractions but in general she was still under control. However, once she can’t suppress the urge to breathe, things started to go wild. She can’t help sucking in void harder and harder, and the negative pressure made her lungs burning and a drumming in her ears. Proper alignment is crucial to ensure at least some air gets through. With all three layers in place, her labored breathing is clearly audible. It seems exhausting already! We dress her in a dog bondage set and have her crawl on the ground to greet you. Now for the fun part—the fourth layer! We tried three different setups: First is a gas mask with a rebreather bag, only allowing stale air with high CO2 and low O2 level. Then comes the same gas mask, but with the breathing port sealed with tape resulting in extreme breathing resistance. The last one is cling film wrap directly over her face, which perfectly seals against the latex, blocking all micro-perforations. Her task? Self-rescue! But that’s impossible inside the dog bondage set. To lower the difficulty a little bit, we remove the set halfway, but she is still in trouble since her hands are useless because they’re tightly contained in two layers of latex mittens. The best surprise? As Xiaoyu struggled violently, the misalignment of the tape opening and the breathing holes of the latex hoods made things even worse. Even after removing the fourth layer, her situation barely improved! This continuous cycle of hope turning into despair pushed Xiaoyu to her limit. By the end, she broke down, crying her heart out in sheer frustration and exhaustion… By the way, in the entire video, Xiaoyu didn’t speak a single word… Is there any secret under the taped face?

I was a little bit worried that the floor may not be able to bear the stomps… Gear 3: Diving mask. The diving mask itself does not restrict breathing. It just blocks the nose but leaves the mouth free. However, this becomes much different with a plastic bag. The diving mask itself also occupies a big space in the bag, so the volume of air available for breathing becomes less. The plastic bag was closed twice, and the second time was extremely intense and exciting: After more than 2 minutes without fresh air for Xiaomeng, I unbound the tail of the collar buckle. However, the collar did not loosen by itself as expected, so was still preventing Xiaomeng from getting precious oxygen. Another more than half minute later, Xiaomeng fell on the bed with very loud wailing. I tried to untie the collar and release Xiaomeng quickly, but her struggling on the bed made things more difficult and time costly. The footage is captured by a fixed camera above water and a handheld camera for both above and underwater shots. The video begins with the breathtaking vacuum bag compression session. Xiaoyu is placed into a vacuum bag, air is removed, and she is then slowly submerged. Initially, we still used a vacuum cleaner to extract the air, but quickly discovered that under water pressure, even a small amount of residual air in the bag would be ruthlessly squeezed to the top, making this compression method far more efficient than a vacuum cleaner. Consequently, for subsequent attempts, we directly used water pressure for compression, achieving unexpectedly perfect results. The water enveloped Xiaoyu’s body, meticulously expelling every bit of air from the bag. Each ripple of the water tightened the bag more intimately around her curves, as if completely isolating her from the outside world. Xiaoyu’s comment about this experience was: “I am in the water, yet I am not in the water…” Next is underwater breathholding. Xiaoyu’s legs are held down by Xiaomeng at the edge of the pool, while her body lies submerged. If Xiaoyu needs to breathe, she must contract her abdomen and rise to bring her head above water. If she wishes to rest and relax by lying flat, she must hold her breath underwater. This dilemma forces her to choose between physical exertion and the need for air. However, Xiaoyu’s breathholding ability and core strength are both exceptionally powerful, making this challenge seem relatively easy for her. With each rise, even when accompanied by gasps for air, a glint of triumph from overcoming the challenge seems to sparkle in her eyes. Finally, we opted for a more aggressive approach: a collar and chain. Xiaomeng pulls the chain, forcibly submerging Xiaoyu and compelling her to hold her breath for extended periods. Being unable to decide for herself when she can surface to breathe undoubtedly brings an unprecedented level of tension and immense psychological pressure to Xiaoyu. She must fully trust Xiaomeng on the other end of the chain, surrendering complete control over her right to breathe. However, Xiaomeng is quite gentle; after a few rounds, I took over from Xiaomeng. Under my control, even when Xiaoyu was allowed to surface, she was given only a single breath, or even half a breath, barely enough for adequate ventilation. Under such high-intensity, extreme pressure, Xiaoyu ultimately couldn’t sustain it, struggling, choking on water, and coughing violently—a clear testament to her reaching her limit.
